Site selection and investigation for subsurface disposal of radioactive wastes in hydraulically induced fractures
Radioactive waste is the inevitable byproduct of the generation of electricity by nuclear reactors as well as other nuclear applications. An effective solution to the problem of disposal of the long-lived and highly toxic radioactive waste is essential to the expanded use of nuclear energy.
