Thallium-bearing orpiment, Carlin gold deposit, Nevada

A variety of orpiment, As₂S₃ , containing a significant amount of thallium has been identified in the unoxidized East ore body of the Carlin gold deposit. The mineral occurs in small veinlets with barite, calcite, quartz, and realgar.
