Water-quality investigation of the Yellville watershed, Arkansas

January 1, 1978

The results of a 1-year study of surface-water quality in the Yellville watershed are presented to document conditions before implementation of Soil Conservation Service programs. Analyses of samples collected at three sites showed that water in Town Branch and East Prong Branch was of good quality except for bacteria, total residue, and sulfate concentrations, which at times exceeded criteria established by the Arkansas Department of Pollution Control and Ecology.
