TATER
The software made available through this repository is designed to efficiently sample cross sections sampled from an underlying raster data set and thus facilitate various downstream applications. The program is intended to make this process convenient and is thus referred to as Tool for Automated Transect Extraction along Rivers, or TATER for short. For the purposes of this software release, the term transect is used in a general sense to refer to a linear profile of data values derived from the raster data set provided as input. Although TATER was primarily designed for use within a geomorphic or hydrologic context in which the bed elevations or water depths are the variables of primary interest, the software is flexible and can accommodate any other attribute organized in a raster format. TATER was developed to be flexible and capable of supporting any application that might benefit from automated transect extraction.
