Amelia Marie Ayers
Amelia Ayers is a Physical Scientist at the California Water Science Center. She joined the center in 2023 to collect, filter, and process discrete data.
Amelia leads the field work for a project collecting shellfish, water samples, and passive samplers to explore how cyanotoxins vary through the San Francisco Estuary. Amelia also works in the laboratory with a variety of instruments, including a microscope to identify organisms in unpreserved water samples, an Aqualog to analyze samples for optical properties, and various types of water filtration setups to prepare samples for external lab analyses.
