Edgardo J. Pujols Vazquez, Ph.D.
Country specialists collect and analyze information on production, trade, and consumption of minerals throughout the world.
At the National Minerals Information Center, I bring multidisciplinary expertise across several geology domains, underpinned by a strong foundation in engineering, statistics, petroleum systems, economic minerals, and mining production techniques and economics. I provide expert insights on international mineral developments, including mineral production, production capacity, resource assessments, trade dynamics, government policy, and long-term supply projections.
My past research has integrated structural geology, tectonics, stratigraphy, basin analysis, and geo-thermochronology to develop a comprehensive understanding of the timescales and complex feedbacks that govern deformation and basin evolution. A key aspect of my research involved identifying the forcing mechanisms—such as climate, tectonics, and eustasy—that influence deformational styles and control basin and strata architecture.
