Ian B Lynch

Since starting with the USGS in 2018, Ian has gained experience in surface water stream gaging, discrete water quality sampling, surface water PFAS sampling, and gage design and construction. Ian is excited about the opportunities in the survey posed by new and developing technologies and looks forward to participating in further program development in the PAWSC.

Ian earned a B.S. of Science in Geology from Norwich University in 2014. After graduating, he moved on to sustainable and commercial farming in Western Pennsylvania. This experience culminated in a position extending sustainable urban agriculture practices with the Peace Corps in Senegal from 2015-2018. Following Peace Corps service, Ian briefly found employment as an on-site geologist for gas drilling operations in PA, OH, and WV before accepting a position with the Pittsburgh Field Office of the Pennsylvania Water Science Center.
