Nicholas (Nick) Framsted
Nick Framsted is a Physical Scientist at the California Water Science Center.
Nick is an ecosystem ecologist who researches factors that affect the distribution and abundance of algae and cyanobacteria in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. His interests include nutrient cycling, ecosystem metabolism, benthic-pelagic coupling, and how each of these processes interact with algal ecology and bloom formation. Nick is also interested in using machine learning models to investigate complex, high-dimensional data and create models to better understand drivers of algal and cyanobacterial blooms and improve prediction of these events.
