Rocio "Rosie" Cortez

Rosie Cortez has been with the USGS since 2018 and serves as an Administrative Operations Assistant for the Research Drilling Program (RDP). Working on a small team, she supports many sides of RDP operations and often serves as a liaison across the program. She especially values seeing the field work her administrative support helps make possible.

Rosie began her career with the U.S. Geological Survey in 2018 through the Pathways Program while attending college. Since joining the Research Drilling Program (RDP) as a student intern, she has grown into her current role as an Administrative Operations Assistant, taking on a variety of responsibilities and often serving as a liaison across the program. Working within a small team has allowed her to support many aspects of RDP operations while finding creative solutions, learning new processes, and taking on new challenges.

Throughout her time with RDP, Rosie has especially valued opportunities to see the field work behind the program and has gained a greater appreciation for how administrative support contributes to RDP's mission.
