Sheila Matsukawa
Sheila Matsukawa is an experienced federal employee with more than two decades of service supporting scientific and operational programs, with a strong background in safety, regulatory compliance, property, travel, and program logistics. She serves with the USGS Research Drilling Program, bringing experience from the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Sheila's expertise centers on safety and workplace safety practices, an area she approaches from both the compliance and the training side. She works in OSHA compliance and in OSHA training and preparedness, helping programs understand what is required of them before an inspection rather than during one. She also instructs the course "What to Do When OSHA Comes Knocking," which walks employees through the inspection process and their responsibilities in it. Alongside the safety work, she manages property, administers government travel, and coordinates program and operational logistics.
