Zoë Siman-Tov

Zoë Siman-Tov is a Hydrologic Technician within the Biogeochemistry group at the California Water Science Center based in Sacramento, CA. She is passionate about open science, satellite & UAV remote sensing, and telling stories with data.

During her undergraduate studies, Zoë contributed to a range of projects, including marine microbial ecology research using qPCR and flow cytometry, lunar magnetism analysis with MATLAB, remote sensing work at NASA, and drone-based monitoring of campus irrigation systems using QGIS.

A licensed FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot, Zoë was awarded the grand prize in the 2023 AGU Michael H. Freilich Student Visualization Competition.

At the California Water Science Center, Zoë supports research on algal blooms and water quality in the San Francisco Bay and Delta, conducting fieldwork with active fluorometry instruments and performing data analysis and visualization in R and ArcGIS.
