The USGS National Map program is transitioning its web map viewer, known as The National Map Advanced Viewer, to a new version during the week of April 7, 2025.

The USGS National Map program is transitioning its web map viewer The National Map - Advanced Viewer to a new 3D version during the week of April 7, 2025.  The new National Map 3D Viewer will be available on the same URL as The National Map Advanced Viewer.   A beta version of the 3D Viewer can be previewed at The National Map - 3D Viewer Beta before the switch over.  The 3D Viewer will retain most of the standard functionality as the current viewer with the primary exception of enabling a 3D viewing option.

We are excited about the major upgrade to our Viewer that improves integration with our 3D Elevation Program data. This new 3D viewing capability will modernize how users interact with topographical information, allowing for a more immersive and intuitive exploration of our nation's landscapes. The improved immersion of the Viewer will empower communities, planners, and decision makers to better understand and utilize critical geospatial data for more informed decision making.
