Satellite Collection Calendar

September 4, 2026

Future satellite image collection can be predicted based on recent patterns in satellite data collection.  The Satellite Collection Calendar examines the past two months of data collection for Sentinel-2A/2B/2C and Landsat-8/9 and predicts the dates of future data collects.  The user zooms into an area of interest and clicks on a tile to produce a table of historical and projected satellite imagery dates. This table can then be referenced when planning data collection efforts to coincide with satellite observations.

The software is also available: King, T.V., Privette, L.M., 2026, Satellite Calendar (ver. 1.0.0, June, 2026): U.S. Geological Survey software release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P1CQMSFV.
