To help users connect and comprehend USGS data, we propose to develop an interactive viewer for multi-channel geophysical data using existing Python PyViz tools.
Across all mission areas the USGS collects various geophysical time series data to understand and monitor the Earth. These data are publicly available in various formats, however viewing and interacting with these data can be difficult. We propose to develop an interactive open-source Python viewer that will allow users to plot the data as 1D time series; zoom, scroll, and scale the data; and apply simple filters, plot frequency spectra, and visualize data availability. This will allow anyone to interact with USGS time series data increasing data comprehension and equity amongst stakeholders.
