Ralph Tingley (GLSC, Ann Arbor, Michigan) was interviewed by Dale Bowman of the Chicago Sun Times on March 28, 2022. They discussed the current status of smelt in Lake Michigan and overall patterns in prey fish biomass in recent years. The interview followed Dave Warner (GLSC, Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Ralph's presentation on Lake Michigan prey fish at the annual Lake Committee Meetings. An article, “Smelt or the memory of smelt? Tiny flash of hope for smelt on southern Lake Michigan”, was published on March 30, 2022 and a second article on prey fish is expected at a later date.
