Due to a lapse in appropriations, the majority of USGS websites may not be up to date and may not reflect current conditions. Websites displaying real-time data, such as Earthquake and Water and information needed for public health and safety will be updated with limited support. Additionally, USGS will not be able to respond to inquiries until appropriations are enacted. For more information, please see www.doi.gov/shutdown
Change in Responsible Individual for Station Permit
Science Center Objects
Detailed information about the application process is found on the page with master banding permit application form and instructions. Please recognize that the new responsible individual must have sufficient banding experience to qualify for a master banding permit with the existing authorizations on the station permit.
A change in the responsible individual for a master station banding permit follows the same process as an application for a master banding permit. The new responsible individual must complete an application form and include the supporting information that documents their previous banding experience. Detailed information about the application process is found on the Application for Master Banding Permit page. The application must be reviewed and approved by the BBL before the new responsible individual is assigned to the station banding permit.
In most cases, a change in the responsible individual for a master station permit does not involve any changes to the authorizations on the permit. A justification is not required with the permit application because the ongoing activities have already been approved by the BBL. If new authorizations are being requested at the same time as the change in the responsible individual, then the request must include a description of the new banding activities that will require the additional authorizations.
