USGS Hydrologic Technicians (Hydrotechs) are out in the field USGS to collect data. They're installing gages, checking routine gage functions, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. They're the first ones out (as soon as it's safe) during and after a flood, to ensure that critical data are available to all. They're out at streams, lakes, wells, crest-stage gages, and everywhere else. And in between, they're reviewing data, making sure that USGS data meet high standards for accuracy and dependability.
The Virginia and West Virginia Water Science Center has a current Hydrologic Technician opening in the Richmond office.
