Data for Annual maps of ecological states for two ecological site groups in the Upper Colorado River Basin during 1986-2022
These data were compiled to support ecosystem monitoring and management and to inform ecological transition probabilities and drivers. Objective(s) of our study were to produce maps of ecological states each year during 1986-2022 within two dominant ecological site groups (ESGs) in our study area. These data represent annual time series digital maps of ecological states in the Semiarid Warm Sandy and Loamy Uplands and Semiarid Warm Shallow and Deep Rocky ESGs for each of 37 years during 1986-2022, which represents ecological changes. Additionally, two data tables represent ecological state and spatial covariate values for locations associated with field plots in the Semiarid Warm Sandy and Loamy Uplands Ecological and the Semiarid Warm Shallow and Deep Rocky ESGs that were used to produce the models to generate the annual time series digital maps. The spatial extent of these data are the Upper Colorado River Basin within the distribution of the ESGs. These data were created by the U.S. Geological Survey, Southwest Biological Science Center. These data can be used to inventory current conditions, assess trends, plan management actions, and estimate effects of disturbances such as wildfire.
