Dataset of Rusty Patched Bumble Bee (Bombus affinis) Detection by Site Characteristics, 2022 to 2024 in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois (A Hierarchical Approach for Finding Undiscovered Populations of an Endangered Bumble Bee)

May 6, 2026

These data were collected to estimate occupancy of Bombus affinis at two spatial scales: 10x10km grid cells and 3.14 hectare sampling units with unknown occupancy in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois 2022-2024. Data were also used to determine relationships between the area of developed land and Bombus affinis occupancy at both spatial scales and to determine factors affecting Bombus affinis detection probability.
