Digital elevation, flow-direction, flow-accumulation, and streamline rasters for Texas StreamStats
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), prepared hydro-conditioned geographic information systems (GIS) data layers for use in the Texas StreamStats application (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). This data release contains digital elevation, flow-direction, flow-accumulation, and streamline raster datasets at a 3-meter resolution for the Texas StreamStats application. The 24 Watershed Boundary Dataset Hydrologic Unit Codes (HUCs) represented by these datasets are 1108, 110901, 110902, 1110, 1112, 1113, 1114, 1201, 1202, 1203, 1204, 1205, 1206, 1207, 1208, 120901, 120902, 1210, 1211, 1303, 1304, 130501, 130502, 130503, 1306, 1307, 1308, and 1309 (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, as well as engineering and design purposes. The map-based user interface can be used to delineate drainage areas, determine basin characteristics and estimate peak-flow statistics for gaged and ungaged streams.
