Elevations of Glacial Dammed Lakes Measured by the Surface Water Ocean Topography Satellite from April 2023 through May 2025 (updated 2025-08-19)
This dataset contains satellite-derived information on lake elevations for selected glacial dammed lakes (GDLs) monitored by the National Weather Service Alaska-Pacific River Forecasting Center in Anchorage, Alaska, as well as several Alaska lakes collocated with monitoring gages. The lake elevation data are derived from satellite-observed water surface elevations from the Surface Water Ocean Topography Level 2 Version C pixel cloud data product. Data include both the raw pixel cloud elevations and corresponding data quality flags for each lake organized in ZIP packages, as well as a master comma separated values file and a spatial geojson file that provide time series of lake-area-averaged pixel cloud water surface elevations for all lakes in the dataset.
