Fish capture data from the Colorado River, TX, December 15, 2014 through September 23, 2017
This dataset describes fishes associated with the lower Colorado River basin in central Texas. The dataset is comprised of 1,835 records of individual fishes collected by boat electrofishing at 36 sites in Bastrop, Travis, Fayette, and Colorado counties from December 2014 through September 2017. Each record reports the collection date, county, river basin, gear type, scientific name, common name, total length in millimeters, and the longitude and latitude of the collection location. Six species are represented, including Guadalupe Bass (Micropterus treculii), Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides), Blue Sucker (Cycleptus elongatus), River Carpsucker (Carpiodes carpio), Gray Redhorse (Moxostoma congestum), and Smallmouth Buffalo (Ictiobus bubalus), with total lengths ranging from 27 to 880 millimeters.
