Hydrodynamic and water quality time-series data from 6 locations in Lower Pool 13 of the Upper Mississippi River from April - October 2025
The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center collected up to 6-months of continuous data from water quality, pressure, and current sensors to measure wave-induced resuspension of sediments across six shallow (< 2 m) sites in Pool 13 of the Upper Mississippi River between April 4, 2025 and October 2, 2025. This data release includes hydrodynamic and water quality datasets. High-frequency turbidity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, and salinity measurements are reported for six sites, with two of those sites also reporting chlorophyll-a and phycocyanin concentrations using YSI EXO3 sondes. Hydrodynamic data includes burst sampled pressure data from four sites in the impounded area, as well as measurements of near-bed current velocity at two of those sites using RBR virtuoso3 and Nortek Vector sensors. All details related to sensor locations, instrumentation, deployment settings, sample frequency, post-processing, and QA/QC are included in the associated metadata within each zipped file.
