Re-Os isotopic compositions of world-wide occurrences of the mineral molybdenite and black shale by LA-ICP-MS/MS

September 3, 2026

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release accompanies upcoming publication 'High Spatial Resolution Re-Os Dating of Paleozoic Organic-Rich Black Shales by LA-ICP-MS/MS' to be published in the Chemical Geology. The data set reports the Re-Os isotopic composition, Re-Os age and select trace element contents of the mineral molybdenite associated with ore deposits in the United States, Canada, and Australia. These data were collected using the LA-ICP-MS/MS technique. Additionally, analyses for Re-Os isotopic composition and select trace element contents are reported for several organic-rich black shale units from the United States, Australia, and China.
