Tracking Data for Emperor Geese (Anser canagicus)
April 19, 2021
This data release includes 2 child items with tracking data for Emperor Geese, a waterfowl species endemic to the Bering Sea region that breeds primarily in western Alaska on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta and spends the winter in southwestern Alaska and throughout the Aleutian Islands.
Child Item 1: "Argos Satellite Tracking Data for Emperor Geese (Anser canagicus) - Processed Data" -- Quality-controlled data collected from Argos satellite transmitters.
Child Item 2: "Argos Satellite Tracking Data for Emperor Geese (Anser canagicus) - Raw Data" -- All raw data collected from Argos satellite transmitters, provided for completeness of the archive. The quality-controlled, "Argos Processed Data" (Child Item 1) are better suited for most analytical purposes.

We studied reproductive success and post-breeding movements of 32 adult female emperor geese Chen canagica that were marked with satellite radio transmitters on their nesting area on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta (YKD), Alaska 2000–2004. All 16 females that failed to successfully reproduce departed the YKD and moulted remiges either on the north coast of the Chukotka Peninsula, Russia (n=15)...
