Vertical Control GNSS and leveling data collected across five Texas coastal National Wildlife Refuges, 2024

September 11, 2025

This data release contains Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) measurements acquired across five Texas coast National Wildlife Refuges in 2024. These data will be used to establish vertical control and tie rod-set elevation table (RSET) data to the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS) and National Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Data from the RSETs will be used to determine areas that are at the greatest risk for potential habitat loss and degradation by examining subsidence and accretion rates. Thus, the RSET data can be used to quantify the impacts of sea-level change to properties owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and similar surrounding areas.
