Whole-rock geochemical data for volcanic rocks sampled in northwestern Utah and adjacent states
This release of whole-rock geochemical data for northwestern Utah and adjacent states is for volcanic rocks sampled and analyzed from 1977 to present. The rocks range from Eocene to Quaternary in age and represent lava flows, tuffs, and subvolcanic intrusions.
The data release includes new, previously unpublished data as well as results for USGS-processed samples that are publicly available through the USGS National Geochemical Database: Rock (NGD-Rock) website. This data release supersedes and improves on the data available for download from the NGD-Rock website by: consolidating all analytical data for a sample from multiple tables into one table, correcting or improving sample locations, correcting typographic errors in sample numbers, updating descriptive information, and adding samples and/or data for samples that are missing from the online NGD-Rock files.
The data are grouped according to the analytical laboratory that processed the samples, since each laboratory used different instruments and analytical methods. Refer to "Child Items" section below to access data and supplemental files. Symbol colors on browse graphic match those used for the browse graphic for each child item.
