Scientific Community Invited to Join Water Resources Mission Area's Seminar Series
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Resources Mission Area (WMA) is welcoming natural resource stakeholders and researchers to attend their weekly seminar series on water science-related topics.
“We are excited to see this expanded reach,” said Dot Lundberg, the deputy director of the Earth Systems Processes Division within WMA. “In the past, we had a more limited external audience, but we recognized the need for wider participation to better foster collaboration, strengthen our science mission, and build stronger partnerships.”
Hosted every Wednesday at noon, these webinars include presentations from USGS scientists and external water resource experts to widen the scope of research, discussion, and perspectives.
By welcoming our cooperators from universities, government agencies, Tribes, and local organizations, the series provides an opportunity for fostering collaboration and information-sharing among water resource professionals.
The topics and disciplines covered by the seminar series are water-related, but very wide-ranging.
“We are always looking for presenters and audience members to continue discussion on this amazing science,” said Lundberg.
The USGS water science centers and Water Resources Mission Area research, monitor, and provide information to the public on water quality, availability, and use throughout the United States.
