Global economic value for the Anguillidae family of fish - European eel species

Did you know the total economic value of inland fishing as food is over 10 billion dollars!?  

European eel species in the Anguillidae family has a 170-million-dollar total economic impact. It is fished for in 9 countries, including Germany (200 million dollars), Poland (9 million dollars), and Austria (5 million dollars). 

We teamed up with the USGS Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center to create this data visualization.
