Landsat Global Archive Consolidation WRS 2 Scenes

This map displays the scenes acquired by Landsat 4, Landsat 5, and Landsat 7 satellites, on the World Reference System (WRS-2). These scenes were initially downlinked and stored at Landsat International Cooperator Ground Stations. 

In 2010, the Landsat Global Archive Consolidation (LGAC) effort began with a goal to: 

1. Consolidate the Landsat data archives of all international ground stations
2. Make the data more accessible to the global Landsat community
3. Significantly increase the frequency of observations over a given area of interest to improve scientific uses such as change detection and analysis

As of December 2025, Landsat International Cooperators have contributed over 6.4 million Landsat 4-7 scenes to the USGS archive.
