The new basin characteristic (RCN) calculates runoff curve numbers for the various combinations of hydrological soils groupings and land cover types within the South Carolina StreamStats study area. Soils data are sourced from the USDA, NRCS SSURGO soils database and land cover data are from USGS 2019 NLCD data. RCN will be used in South Carolina Synthetic Unit Hydrograph equations that will be added to South Carolina StreamStats at a later date.
