Banding Permit Reference Letter Template

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that their references provide letters of recommendation to the BBL. A Reference Letter Template is available. The use of the template is optional, but any letter of recommendation should include the necessary details for the BBL to properly evaluate an applicant’s experience and abilities in capture techniques, banding and marking, aging and sexing of birds, banding ethics, and data management.

Reference letters must be received at bbl_permits@usgs.gov. An application will not be reviewed until all three references have responded.
