Detailed Description

Prior to Memo to All Banders, the Bird Banding Laboratory utilized Bird Banding Notes to communicate with banders between 1992 and 1966, issuing a total of 6 volumes. Volume 4 spanned from 1948-1950. Vol. 4 No. 2 of the Bird Banding Notes was released in August 1949. Subjects in this note are 1. Greetings to all old banders and welcome to new ones; 2. Attention of all bird banding cooperators; 3. Where do we stand?; 4. Work status in the banding office; 5. Publicity; 6. Help spread the world; 7. Age terminology; 8. Preparation of schedules (Form 3-860); 9. Submission of schedules (Form 3-860); 10. Return cards (3-137); 11. Reporting recoveries; 12. Form Letter 3-624 – report of recovery; 13. New postcard request for original banding data; 14. Bands; 15. Other supplies; 16. Permits; and 17. List of A.O.U. numbers and band sizes.
