Replacing Bands/Markers Guide for the North American Bird Banding Program

Learn more about the scenarios in which replacing bands/markers on birds is acceptable and how to report these changes to the North American Bird Banding Program (Bird Banding Lab and Bird Banding Office) using the Bander Portal Data Submission tool. This document contains the following scenarios: modifying bands/markers of a bird originally tagged under a different permit; compromised federal metal band (worn, damaged, etc.), illegible federal metal bands; and auxiliary marker(s) modifications.
