Active Wells in the New England groundwater level network, 2017

Detailed Description

A map showing the locations of the active wells (at least one water-level measurement during the previous year) in the New England groundwater level network at the end of 2017. Continuous water-level measurements are automated measurements (15-minute to hourly measurements) available to the public in near real time. Discrete water-level measurements are manual measurements collected on a regular basis (monthly measurements at most locations). Intermittent water-level measurements are discrete or continuous measurements not collected on a regular basis. Many wells, particularly those with long periods of record, have periods of both discrete and continuous data collection. The dataset contains 381 active wells, including 104 with continuous measurements, 182 with discrete measurements, and 95 with intermittent measurements.
