AVHRR Antenna

Detailed Description
EROS acquires satellite ground station status when NOAA's Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) antenna is installed on the roof and begins acquiring data directly from NOAA 9 and 10. AVHRR scenes open doors to science projects that become benchmarks of EROS such as NDVI, support of the FEWS Network and various drought-mapping efforts. Data is received through the AVHRR antenna until it ceases working in 2017. The imagery is still available in the EROS archive.
