Collecting a Water Quality Sample

Detailed Description

Erica Warner holds a water quality sonde in Sligo Creek in Maryland on October 4, 2022.

After rain from the remnants of Ian, the water-quality team was out per usual conducting its water-quality storm sampling. Storm-event sampling is important because a major fraction of runoff and associated pollutants are carried by stormflow. Samples will be analyzed for nutrients, dissolved chloride, E. coli bacteria, total suspended solids, and suspended sediment.
