Collecting Borehole Geophysical Logs - Long Island
Detailed Description
Collecting Borehole Geophysical Logs - Borehole geophysical logs are collected by lowering a probe down the well casing. The USGS uses a mobile geophysical laboratory to collect these logs. Information obtained from borehole geophysical logging includes delineation of aquifers and clay units (hydrogeology), and saltwater using formation conductivity surrounding the well.
