Colored banded Common Loon
Detailed Description
Note the silver federal metal band and orange colored leg band on this Common Loon. Colored leg bands allow individuals to be resighted and identified without being recaptured. All banding and marking is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey’s BBL.
