The exterior of FIDO, a new instrument developed by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) and the USGS Rapid eDNA Assessment and Deployment Initiative and Network (READI-Net) project. Adapted from MBARI’s Environmental Sample Processor, FIDO is a cost-effective autonomous DNA sampler, leveraging environmental DNA (eDNA) to help resource managers detect, contain, and control aquatic biological threats.
