Grace Molino

Grace Molino is a member of the 2025-2027 "Future of Species Range Shifts" cohort in the CASC Network Climate Adaptation Postdoctoral Fellows Program. She is working with the Northwest CASC at the University of Washington, where her research is focused on modeling opportunities for and barriers to coastal ecosystems movement under future water levels.  

Grace received her Ph.D. in Marine Science with a sub-concentration in Marine Policy from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the College of William & Mary and her B.S. in Geology-Biology from Brown University. Her interests lie in combining large-scale, remotely sensed data products with detailed field surveys to examine biological, physical, and anthropogenic drivers of ecosystem shifts with climate change. Her dissertation examined potential marsh migration area in the Chesapeake Bay under future sea level rise scenarios, and how infrastructure built in response to saltwater intrusion might impact the resilience of future salt marshes. Grace's work has taken her around the U.S. and abroad which has emphasized the importance of place in creating resilient coastlines for both people and ecosystems.
