Landers Fault Scarp

1992 (approx.)

Detailed Description

Surface scarp from the Landers rupture north of the town of Landers.  Features such as this, generated when two sides of a fault move sideways relative to one-another, can be traced easily when they are fresh, but over time will erode, leaving only subtle evidence of an active fault.
