Lava flows into residential neighborhood in Lower East Rift Zone

An overflow event occurred on the evening of May 27, 2018 producing a fast-moving lava flow into the residential area of Leilani Estates. The UAS team on-site called for the immediate evacuation of the area and first responders cleared the neighborhood.
