Detailed Description

Coral reef marine terrace, with higher terrace above it, Talafofo Beach, Saipan. Lower coral reef terrace likely dates to the ~120,000 year high-sea stand, but uranium-series dating (in progress) will ascertain this. Note bioerosional notch being cut in the modern surf zone below the uplifted terrace.
