Megachile inimica, m, back, Dorchester Co, MD

Detailed Description

A lover of yellow composites. Sunflowers and things that look like sunflowers. Megachile inimica is a big leaf cutter, quite hunky really, a bee's bee. This is a male and was collected at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland. Oh, ....They planted a nice pollinator garden at their visitor's center and boom, it became the best place to see native bees on the whole refuge. These things make a difference.
