Mosaic Canyon

Detailed Description

A large chunk of "older" consolidated gravel (about 12 feet tall and 4 feet wide) is imbedded sideways in "younger" consolidated gravel. The younger gravel has bedding that is basically parallel to the modern stream gradient. Also note the layers of Noonday Dolomite to the left of the human (for scale). The ancient alluvial sediments fill an older stream channel that is different than the cut of the modern stream in this part of the canyon.
