Detailed Description
The National Biological Survey was established by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt via a secretarial order that transferred certain biological research functions of several bureaus of the Department of the Interior, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Minerals Management Service, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, U.S. Geological Survey, and Bureau of Reclamation.
