Detailed Description

Regions covered by the USGS Sea Floor Stress and Sediment Mobility Database. The database includes the U.S. East Coast and Gulf of Mexico continental shelf out to depths of ~120 m. Numerical model output is used to assess bottom shear stress over large areas of the continental shelf, then combined with grain size data to evaluate sediment mobility patterns.
