Most of this confidence is associated with recent temperature trends for warming across the Arctic region. For precipitation, areas marked in green have a slight shift in the odds toward wetter conditions while the western shore (marked in brown) have a slight shift in odds toward drier conditions. Areas in white suggest equal chances of below-, above-, or near-normal precipitation for this time. El Niño is not a strong predictor of precipitation shifts for most of Alaska.
