Seismic reflection surveying block diagram

Detailed Description

Block diagram illustrating the principle of seismic reflection surveying, a geophysical technique used to identify major acoustic transitions in the subsurface at basin scale. The p-wave velocity and amplitude data generated by the GeoTek MSCL-S multi-sensor core logger housed in the BASCORE Lab can be used to construct correlations between core intervals and major acoustic transitions identified in seismic stratigraphy, thereby allowing researchers to determine the sediment composition above and below each transition.
